Eaton To Showcase Advanced Data Centre Power Quality and Management Solutions at CeBIT 2009

Sydney, 30 March 2009 - Eaton, a diversified industrial manufacturer, will showcase its range of power quality and management solutions at this year’s CeBIT exhibition and conference being staged in Sydney from 12-14 May 2009.

With the backdrop of skyrocketing energy costs, growth restrictions in data centres and ongoing pressure to reduce power consumption, Eaton’s Power Through Disruption expo theme features solutions ideal for data centre environments and includes the broadest range of power quality products and services available.

These products include the new Eaton Powerware enclosure solutions for a rackmount UPS environment. The enclosures represent the first critical step in planning an ideal data centre and complement a comprehensive power management portfolio that includes rack mount UPSs, PDUS, RPPs and a host of other power quality equipment.

Eaton will also showcase its Powerware BladeUPS, a revolutionary power quality solution which expands power protection from 12 kW to 60 kW in a single industry standard 19-inch rack, and most significantly, provides this robust, compact solution without generating the additional heat associated with legacy end-of-row, modular UPS products.

Also being demonstrated is the Powerware Environmental Rack Monitor (ERM) which continuously monitors environmental conditions at the rack level, providing an extra level of security for critical assets. Its primary application is for high-density data centres, but the compact, full-featured device also monitors conditions in laboratories, hospitals, warehouses, libraries, museums, and any other indoor location where the environment must be maintained within acceptable levels.

Eaton will also exhibit its power distribution units (PDU) which complement UPSs by distributing power to up to 24 or 45 receptacles in high-density rack environments or other applications requiring conditioned power distribution. Offering the unique advantage of providing a tiered set of PDU product families along two dimensions - power capacity and functionality - Eaton PDUs allow users to select the precise combination of features and power ratings needed for specific applications.

“Our electrical business is a global leader in electrical control, power distribution, uninterruptible power supply and industrial automation products and services. Visitors to CeBIT this year will have an opportunity to gain knowledge and insight first hand from our senior team of technical experts who work with our diverse customer base in implementing these solutions for complex data centre environments in order to meet their exclusive data centre infrastructure requirements,” said Michael Mallia, General Manager, Power Quality, Eaton Industries.

Eaton’s CeBIT 2009 booth is located at Stand number W30. CeBIT 2009 is being staged at The Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre.
