Melbourne Racing Club Takes the Lead with Task Retail Technology 2014-08-18T00:36:46Z melbourne-racing-club-takes-the-lead-with-task-retail-technology MELBOURNE, Australia – August 18, 2014 – Task Retail Technology (TASK) today announced it has won a competitive tender for an extensive overhaul of the Melbourne Racing Club’s (MRC) existing Point-of-Sale (POS) software and associated infrastructure systems. Melbourne Racing Club awarded TASK the tender due to its ability to incorporate widespread functionality into the one solution, as well as the ability to innovate and customise features to meet MRC’s needs.   “We felt TASK was always looking towards the future as we were,” said Warren Horton, Chief Financial Officer of the Melbourne Racing Club.“TASK’s xchangexec solution is not just a POS system, but also offers the capability of the Club to move to a fully integrated customer relationship management and loyalty management system, with a sophisticated and scalable POS solution and real-time inventory management.” TASK’s xchangexec will be housed on a dedicated MRC server in the TASK cloud. Other decision-making criteria included xchangexec’s potential for complete integration with MRC’s existing Ungerboeck Software Events and Financial Management System (EFMS) and its superior reporting and usability. “The team at TASK thought about ways to meet our requirements and looked for a solution that would meet the Club’s current and future needs,” said Mr. Horton. To ensure MRC invited the most innovative technology companies into the tender process, they enlisted the expertise of an external consultant and industry expert. Six companies participated, a combination of large multinationals, including Micros and InfoGenesis, as well as local innovators including TASK. On July 5, Caulfield Racecourse went live with 87 xchangexec POS terminals across the facility. Phase two includes digital signage and menu board upgrades across all the MRC’s restaurants, bars and food service areas, “Caulfield is the first of our facilities to be overhauled. Once we deliver on the offering at our Caulfield facility we will begin at Sportingbet Park,” Mr. Horton said. “We have had an extremely positive relationship with the TASK team. They were there on day one, throughout the process and on our go live date,” said Mr. Horton. “The support since the go-live date has been outstanding.” “TASK was pleased to be invited to the tender process and we were able to demonstrate the superiority of xchangexec and emerge as the front runner,” said Daniel Houden, CEO of TASK. “Our partnership with MRC is thriving and it is a pleasure to work, collaborate and innovate with the MRC team.” About Melbourne Racing Club The Melbourne Racing Club began its life as the Victoria Amateur Turf Club more than 135 years ago. Austerity leads to anarchy when people can't afford to pay imposts of high taxes, double dipping on petrol excise with GST and indexed to inflation every six months. Hecs demands of immediate payment, $7 doctor visit fees, Disability job ultimatums, Death wish on persons 65 years +, Debt levy, Parents and high incomes taxed, Plus possible higher excise and taxes on cigarettes, beer and wine, the list goes on.  But you might say they have put a freeze on their salaries from any rises - Well that's after e.g. A backbencher's salary increased $54,000 to $ 195,130.00 and Ian Watt, Secretary to Department of Prime Minister rose a staggering $40,000 to $844,000! (source Sunday Mail 11 May 2014). HOT BREAKFAST, THE US MASTERS BEAMED LIVE AND 18 HOLES OF GOLF… 2014-04-09T02:55:00Z hot-breakfast-the-us-masters-beamed-live-and-18-holes-of-golf-the-hermitage-by-sekisui-house-throws-support-behind-starlight-foundation-fundraiser HOT BREAKFAST, THE US MASTERS BEAMED LIVE AND 18 HOLES OF GOLF… The Hermitage by Sekisui House throws support behind Starlight Foundation Fundraiser 2 APRIL 2014: More than 150 golfing enthusiasts from businesses around Macarthur will gather at Camden Lakeside Golf Club this month to raise much-needed funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Sekisui House, developer of the popular residential community The Hermitage, is one of the event’s key sponsors and hopes to help hit the fund-raising target. “The Starlight Children’s Foundation is a great organisation that carries out life-changing work for many seriously ill children and their families. We have many children living at the Hermitage, so we’re very conscious of the importance of a happy, healthy family – and how difficult life can be when you’re not so lucky,” said Sekisui House’s NSW Marketing Manager Moonmoon Sahu. A team from The Hermitage will also play in the day’s tournament, which kicks off on Monday April 14 with a 6am hot buffet breakfast timed to catch the final day of the 2014 US Masters Golf Tournament beamed live to the Camden Lakeside clubhouse. Guests will then tee off for 18 holes from approximately 9.30am, and will have the opportunity to take home a Greg Norman signed Cobra Golf Bag, a framed and signed artist’s impression of Greg, or a selection of Greg Norman Wines, kindly donated by world renowned golfing legend Greg Norman. Hosted by the Camden Lakeside Golf Club and Chamber Developments, this will be the fourth Masters Charity Golf Tournament. The Motor Neurone Disease Association of NSW was the previous recipient of the fundraising from the Masters Charity Golf Day. Director of Chamber Developments Brian Brown says that everyone involved understands that life isn’t always fair, and that families and children sometimes have to deal with tragedy. “Each year we run the Masters Breakfast Charity Golf Day to raise money for charities that receive very little or no financial support from the government,” he says. “Along with our key sponsors, we believe it is our duty to help those in in our community who not only have to face the challenges of dealing with seriously ill children but the financial burden that comes with the need to provide the best long term care for them.” For Sekisui House, it’s also a chance to contribute to the broader community around The Hermitage, which launched in 2012 and is now home to more than 200 residents. Camden Lakeside Golf Club is also part of the future long-term vision of The Hermitage as it grows in coming years. “Events and sponsorships like this are key for us, because we have such a strong focus on creating friendly, supportive communities that residents feel at home in,” says Moonmoon. “The opportunity to combine community development and charity support is one we wouldn’t miss.” Sekisui House supports several community-building events and takes on a number of sponsorship opportunities across their communities throughout the year. The Address and The Waterfront at Wentworth Point enjoyed a taste of Europe at multicultural festival EuroFesta last month (Sunday 30 March), and residents of The Hermitage are to be treated to their own cinema under the stars complete with popcorn, wood fired pizzas, fairy floss and bean bags on Sunday 13 April. The resident and business community at Central Park in Chippendale also engage in several creative arts and community projects. Sekisui House fund and support these events as part of their firm belief in social engagement as a key to building community pride. Contribution: Included in your $95.00 per person (discount for members) are your Golf, Cart, Buffet Breakfast, two on-course refreshments, Sandwiches, Super-pin Entry, Gift Pack and Trophies. All money raised from the event will be donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Your attendance and generous donations will be greatly appreciated. The research - commissioned by Carnival Cruise Lines – found that 90 percent of people feel they have to compromise on what they want from their holiday so that they can please their partners or family members. The top three issues that people feel they have to compromise on are: ·  Deciding on a destination (33%) ·   Whether to go somewhere new or somewhere familiar (28%) ·  Choosing between a relaxing or stimulating surroundings (22%) Lisa Murray, Director of Australia Trip Planner said that there’s always a level of compromise when you’re travelling with family and friends but it should not hinder your holiday experience. “There are three keys to having a great holiday: planning, research, and catering to the style of holiday you’re after. “Firstly, planning a holiday is like marriage – speak up or forever hold your peace! Talk about where and when you want to go, and what you want from your holiday. It’s much easier to combine everyone’s wants and desires when it’s out in the open. “Secondly, knowledge is power so the more research you do and the more information you have, the greater chance you have of enjoying your holiday. “Thirdly, cater to the style of holiday you’re booking. For instance, if it’s a family friendly holiday with little kids, ditch the romantic dinners because unhappy children at an expensive and sexy restaurant will only leave a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.” Lisa said that people are forever compromising, so we expect our holidays to be a selfish indulgence. Don’t look at it as compromise but as a broader holiday experience. You’re sharing new experiences with people you love. Look at all the wonderful memories you’ll create. “As for coming home tired, holidays are exhausting. You’re doing new things, you’re out of your regular environment and comfort zone, and then there’s the sudden shock to your system when you have to return to your normality. But seriously, is a bit of post-holiday tiredness really enough to make you stop taking holidays?” Plan your holiday experience with the help of Australia Trip Planner. TCL Electronics Australia is one crucial piece in the puzzle to deliver a seamless experience to guests at one of Australia’s most glamorous and watched sporting events. In its ninth successive year as a major partner of the Victoria Racing Club, and as the ‘Official TV Supplier’ of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, it is TCL’s responsibility to ensure everyone on course has easy access to view all the races from every angle, no matter where they are on the premises. This includes more than 400 TCL Smart 3D and LED TVs that have been installed throughout Flemington racecourse to ensure nobody misses a minute of the action. This includes 100 of the TCL 50-inch televisions in the infield alone. - In 2012, over 95.7 per cent of all metropolitan in-home televisions switched on at 3pm (Australian EST) tuned into the race. Nearly five million people (4.85 million) watched all or part of the television coverage.*More than 65,000 hats and fascinators, 54,000 pairs of shoes, 53,000 dresses, 26,000 handbags, 23,000 items of jewellery, 29,000 ties, 14,000 pairs of sunglasses, 11,000 items of underwear, 14,000 pairs of socks and pantyhose and 17,000 suits were specifically purchased to wear trackside at the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival.* “TCL enables VRC patrons to enjoy high definition coverage of racing across the racecourse, and is a natural brand fit for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. We have shown over many years now that we are a reliable partner that delivers both the latest technology and good looking product that is in line with the prestige image that is important to create around the track,” said Harry Wu, TCL Electronics Australia General Manager. The Melbourne Cup Carnival also continues to be an important vehicle through which to promote the TCL brand to Australian consumers. With extensive signage throughout the course, including five TCL-branded ‘super screens’ and hospitality for key TCL partners and customers, the entire Carnival remains an important way for TCL to highlight its long presence in the Australian market. As part of this relationship, TCL also receives naming rights to an important Crown Oaks Day race (the TCL 4K UHD Smart TV Subzero Challenge). Held on Thursday November 7 as part of the Subzero Challenge, the TCL sponsored race is a three-part greys-only race to be held for the first time during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, which extends upon the popular Crown Oaks Day greys race, which has been staged at Flemington since 1996.To Download behind the scenes imagery of TCL's Television installation at Flemington, please visit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/96609503@N02/ For further information please contact: David Wolf Closer Communications Tel: 0411 111 787 Email: david.wolf@closercommunications.com.au *IER Study as commissioned by the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) About TCL Founded in 1981 with headquarters in China, TCL (The Creative Life) is one of the world's leading consumer electronics manufacturers and a leader in technology and innovation.
