The PRWIRE Press Releases https:// 2004-12-09T19:15:00Z Enterprise Human Resource Management 8.9 2004-12-09T19:15:00Z enterprise-human-resource-management-8-9 PeopleSoft today announced general availability of PeopleSoft(r) Enterprise Human Resource Management Solution (HRMS) 8.9, which has more than 250 new product enhancements. The release includes new functionality for managing workforce issues including contingent workforce management - contractors, consultants, and temporary workers - absence management, and talent acquisition management. Feedback from over 500 customer interviews and usability lab sessions provided input to the development of the release. "With this new release the organisation gets far more person centric, and HR can respond more rapidly to ensure the people are aligned with the business," said Ray Kloss, Director Product and Industry Marketing Japan and Asia Pacific, PeopleSoft, "Diverse and changing workforce compositions are also better managed, such as those with heavy temporary and contract workers." Contingent Workforce Today many organisations have a large contingent workforce to manage. Often someone may be employed as a temp, progress to become permanent, but the HR system tracks this same person as two different people. That can cause organisations to insufficiently plan their resources and be unable to report accurately, impacting their performance. PeopleSoft HRMS 8.9 includes the new "person" model architecture - regardless of changes in their workforce status the employee has a single ID, with their data managed through a single repository. HR management can now better respond to rapidly changing business conditions. Absence Management This new functionality tracks all employee absences in a single web-based interface, enabling organisations to automate planning and compensation for paid and unpaid time off. Talent Acquisition Management Newly designed online, self-service tools, the new Talent Acquisition Manager provides employers with enhanced contact management, improved search capabilities, and new configuration options that allow hiring managers to better track top candidates. The Candidate Gateway enables job applicants to more easily search, apply, and track multiple employment opportunities through a single interface. Recruiters and candidates can be more efficient during the hiring process. Total Ownership Experience Enhancements The new release underwent extensive testing in customer environments and users have reported the following performance gains: 20 percent reduction in overall implementation time 23 percent increase in task completion 16 percent reduction in time across 18 key tasks About PeopleSoft HRMS PeopleSoft's HCM solutions currently support the human resource needs of 75 million employees in 167 countries. PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Defeats Oracle, SAP, and Ultimate Software in Head-to-Head Product Competition 2004-11-10T17:02:00Z peoplesoft-enterprise-hcm-defeats-oracle-sap-and-ultimate-software-in-head-to-head-product-competition PeopleSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSFT) today announced that its PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS portal and self-service applications won the second annual product shootout competition at Human Resource Executive's 7th Annual HR Technology Conference in Chicago. At the Portal and Self-Service product competition, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP and Ultimate software executives each had a fixed amount of time to demonstrate how their products could be used to complete a set of common HR tasks. More than 200 HR and IT executives who judged the competition voted PeopleSoft HRMS the best overall portal and self-service solution. "The HR Technology Conference is the only event in the world where HCM vendors agree to demonstrate the exact same tasks so they can compete head to head on standard operations and be judged by their customers as well as their competitors' customers," said Bill Kutik, co-chairman of HR Technology Conference. "Clearly, PeopleSoft was the favorite of the hundreds of executives in the room, who preferred their portal and self-service solution to the competition." During the shootout, PeopleSoft and its competitors demonstrated how end-users would use employee and manager self-service tools within HCM applications to perform scripted tasks such as adding a dependent to an employee's benefits, enrolling in a learning class, transferring an employee, and utilising analytics to gain insight into overall workforce performance. "PeopleSoft's portal and self-services solutions deliver an intuitive, streamlined user experience and direct access to critical information needed to quickly complete common HR tasks," Stavros Liakakos, principle marketing manager, PeopleSoft HCM. "Being recognised as having the best portal and self-service solution by attendees at HR Technology's competition clearly demonstrates PeopleSoft's continued HCM leadership." Leading Australian organisations select PeopleSoft's user productivity kit 2004-08-25T16:39:00Z leading-australian-organisations-select-peoplesoft-s-user-productivity-kit PeopleSoft today announced that 10 new Australian and New Zealand customers have licensed the PeopleSoft User Productivity Kit (UPK) since April 1st. Australian customers that have licensed the education solution over the last six months include: Australian National University, University of Western Australia and Central Queensland University. The UPK solution enables PeopleSoft customers to develop, customise and deploy training and performance support content to their end-user communities. This provides end-users with the skills, knowledge and tools to instantly use PeopleSoft applications effectively, accurately, consistently and productively. "PeopleSoft is constantly looking to provide more value to our customers," said David Webster, Managing Director, PeopleSoft ANZ. "One of the easiest and most cost effective ways is to speed up the adoption rates of users. The growing momentum behind the UPK shows that there is a demand for training solutions that ensure users are getting the most out of their system from day one." The UPK is designed to make it easier to train staff using PeopleSoft software. It includes comprehensive instructor-led training materials, web-based training sessions, role-based performance support and complete documentation based on the business processes of the organisation. PeopleSoft also can provide generic UPK modules containing business process and system content that can be customised to suit each customer's specific needs. Research has shown that PeopleSoft user productivity improved by an average 20 per cent after completing a PeopleSoft training class* and the UPK is making it even easier for customers to train their staff, customers and suppliers. Increasing an employee's productivity by 20 per cent is equivalent to eight - ten hours. The University of Western Australia was the first organisation in JAPAC to license the UPK for approximately 500 users. A PeopleSoft customer since 1999, the university has been solidly expanding its use of PeopleSoft software over the last five years. So much so, that the user base has grown from 100 users in 1999 to 500 users today. In order to maintain the benefits gained from the current PeopleSoft system and build on the functionality it could provide, the university has expanded and upgraded the system. "Thorough end user training as part of the upgrade rollout is vital," said Chris Rasmussen, Project Manager, Financial Services, University of Western Australia. "In the public sector, it is imperative that we ensure that our investments are maximised to their full potential and we can show the impact it has had on our organisation. Previously we have only focused training on those implementing the software, but we now see the benefit in having end users up to speed from the day the system goes live." The foundation of UPK is the Developer. The UPK Developer serves as a single source development and customisation tool to enable rapid content creation and customisation. * An independent research audit, conducted by Knowledge Advisors, a learning analytics company involving more than 13,000 PeopleSoft users,* About PeopleSoft PeopleSoft (Nasdaq: PSFT) is the world's second largest provider of enterprise application software with 12,400 customers in more than 25 industries and 150 countries. PeopleSoft Ships Next Generation Enterprise Portal 2002-05-02T21:00:00Z peoplesoft-ships-next-generation-enterprise-portal PeopleSoft has raised the bar for enterprise portal solutions by announcing the availability of its next generation Enterprise Portal. The portal offers unique functionality including Intelligent Context Manager and Web Services integration, capabilities unequalled in the enterprise portal industry today. "Leading portal framework vendors must provide a broad view of integration to demonstrate they can embrace a wide variety of applications and content sources," said David Yockelson, executive vice president and service director, META Group. "The possession of a deep set of integration capabilities, as well as distinct features such as Intelligent Context Manager, will help differentiate PeopleSoft within the portal market." Intelligent Context Manager proactively prompts users with relevant information when they initiate transactions within the portal. Information is automatically displayed enabling users to intelligently navigate through the business process. For example, using a traditional portal approach, an accounts payable officer would see that a customer is overdue on a payment. They would then typically send the account to a collections department or agency - never knowing there is a large sales opportunity in the pipeline. With Intelligent Context Manager, the accounts payable person is directly notified of the sales opportunity at the same time they are accessing the receivables information. As the only vendor utilising Web Services standards as its primary integration method, PeopleSoft's Enterprise Portal enables customers to directly syndicate Web Services content into the portal. This reduces the ongoing cost of programming and maintenance, and dramatically lowers the total cost of ownership. "The ability to easily integrate portal technology into business applications will be a key driver in enabling organisations to maximise opportunities at every level," said Ray Kloss, Asia Pacific Product and Industry Marketing Manager. "The Intelligent Context Manager will be a driving force behind customers maintaining their competitive edge." - Ends - About PeopleSoft Inc.
