The PRWIRE Press Releases https:// 2012-10-26T05:04:26Z Cafe2U® Blend Recognised at Australia’s Largest Coffee Roasting Competition. 2012-10-26T05:04:26Z cafe2u-blend-recognised-at-australia-s-largest-coffee-roasting-competition On the 24th October, the Cafe2U coffee blend was awarded  two bronze medals by a select panel of industry leaders at the 2012/2013 Golden Bean Roasting Competition, which took place  in Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The Cafe2U® Blend which was also recognised in 2011, received the bronze medals in the Milk Based (Latte) Category and Chain Store/Coffee Franchise (Espresso) Category. Both categories were highly competitive, with over 250 different blends entered in the Milk Based (Latte) category, and over 60 Franchise Coffee Chains entered in the Chain Store/Coffee Franchise (Espresso) category.  Across both categories, Cafe2U was the only mobile coffee franchise to be recognised and awarded at this prestigious competition, adding to its previous success in 2011. Managing Director of Cafe2U®, Mr Derek Black was thrilled with the result. “To receive an award in the highly competitive Milk Based (Latte) category is significant for the brand, as more than ninety percent of coffee consumed in Australia is milk based.  When you add to this the award in the Espresso category, this makes a real statement to consumers that our unique blend is suited to the tastes of all customers.  What is most exciting is that we are exporting this fantastic blend to all our international markets, which means that we have the opportunity to share this success in countries that are still new to espresso style coffee”.The two awards, coupled with the Golden Bean award received in 2010/2011 demonstrates  that Cafe2U continues to deliver consistent, high quality coffee to its network of franchisees and their loyal customers. It also shows that all the hard work done by the team at Cafe2U in developing this unique blend, working closely with our roasting partner, has definitely been worthwhile. This is absolutely critical within a franchise network, as this helps in building confidence in each and every one of our Franchise Partners, that they themselves are operating and building their business with only the highest quality products and ingredients.  In such a competitive industry, with this philosophy, it is no wonder Cafe2U® has experienced such rapid growth over the past 5 years. Now in its 7th year, the Golden Bean is the world’s largest coffee roasting competition and this year, the competition saw over 100 of the industry's leading coffee roasters judging more than 1100 coffee blends across twelve highly competitive categories.  “This year, the quality of the coffee entered into the competition was of a very high standard and the judges were treated to some of the world’s greatest selections of finely produced coffees,” says Justin Metcalf, Head Judge of the competition. Having completed training at the Cafe2U Training Academy based in Leeds in the UK, the Master Licensee for Germany, Igor Yushchin will commence operating in Seigburg, located in the Bonn region.Igor Yushchin first discovered the Cafe2U concept during a visit to the USA in early 2012."I was looking for the right franchise business model to take back and develop in Germany, and it was by chance that I came across Cafe2U in the USA. I quickly realised that this business model was just what I had been looking for. Not only would the product and service satisfy a existing gap in the market for coffee consumers, Cafe2U's unique business model would provide a franchise opportunity that had previously not been seen in Germany. I am excited by the opportunity, and the support from Cafe2U to get everything in place has been extraordinary!" said Yushchin. Although Cafe2U have already launched in the UK, Ireland and the USA, the launch in Germany has been special for the Cafe2U brand for many reasons.Derek Black, the Director of Operations with Cafe2U International explained why."Launching the Cafe2U brand in Germany has been a fantastic experiencebecause it required a global team effort. It was pleasing that Igor first discovered the Cafe2U business model in the USA, then completed all his pre work, planning and preparation with Cafe2U International based here in Sydney, and has now had his vehicle construction and training completed by the team at Cafe2U UK based in Leeds. This really confirmed to Igor that hewasdealing with a highly professional organisation, but more importantly that he would become part of atrulyinternational family. It has been really satisfying to see all the different arms of the business in different parts of the world come together to produce aseamlessresult" Cafe2U Germany will be formally offering new franchises opportunities from the beginning of July, and further information about new franchise opportunities can be obtained by contact Igor Yushchin direct on +49 (0) 2241 1626803. Cafe2U Franchisee Giving to Receive 2012-06-25T01:41:44Z giving-to-receive On Saturday the 19th of May, the Cafe2U banner was held high at the Grand Opening of the Wayside Chapel which marked the completion of revamping the building. Michael Dolahenty from Cafe2U Cromer-Dee Why contributed to this wonderful cause by donating his services and making coffees during the event. A gold coin donation was given back to Wayside Chapel for all coffees sold. This was made possible with the additional support of Parmalat and Cafe2U. Five years ago, the future for Wayside Chapel which had serviced Sydney’s homeless since 1964 held no hope and was at risk of closing down. The Wayside Chapel Building had been condemned and considered dangerous and was in desperate need of renovation.A determined fund-raising drive was put in place to raise funds for this project and sufficient funding for the revamp was provided by several parties including state and federal governments, as well as private and corporate donors. Cafe2U Cromer-Dee Why has played an active role in contributing towards the fundraising at Wayside Chapel. Michael Dolahenty and his lovely wife Maricor offered their services at the Wayside Chapel Christmas Event in December 2011 where they made over 400 cups of coffee for all attendees at the party. It was here that Cafe2U Cromer-Dee Why became so popular and was invited back for the Grand Opening. For the Grand Opening the streets were closed and there was a great party atmosphere. A variety of activities took place on the day and included tours of the refurbished building, lunch, engaging and uplifting performances by the Honeybees Choir with street dancers dancing in the street at the end of the day. Some top celebrities were also present and actress Claudia Karvan was the Master of Ceremonies.“For me this is one of the best parts of being a Franchise Partner with Cafe2U. It allows me to give a little bit back to organisations and charities and help those who are not so well-off in our community” says Michael Dolahenty, Cafe2U Cromer-Dee Why, NSW.To add to this, Michael claims that he has received one of the best gifts ever … the gift of truly making a difference in someone else’s life, no matter how big or small the donation – every bit counts. Cafe2U wins Brand Builder of the Year Award 2012-06-25T01:38:51Z cafe2u-wins-brand-builder-of-the-year-award Cafe2U are proud to announce that they have won the coveted Express Newspapers Brand Builder of the Year Award, as part of the 2012 bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards. The bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards are often hailed as a defining point in the franchising calendar to showcase the best companies within the industry. This year was no exception, with 14 franchisors being short listed across the three categories, supported by Express Newspapers. Cafe2U is the largest provider of mobile coffee in the UK. They deliver fresh espresso coffee, hot chocolate and a range of snacks to non-traditional locations such as work places, business parks and industrial estates located away from the high-street. Sean Hammond, the Head of Franchising at Express Newspapers, said: “Cafe2U has experienced huge success expanding the business into new markets across the world. First launching in Australia, the business successfully tapped into the growing coffee phenomenon in the UK and now the USA. The judging panel was highly impressed with Cafe2U’s investment in product offerings and its commitment to strengthening the brand – a well-deserved winner of the Brand Builder Award.” Within the Brand Builder category, Cafe2U were rivalled by EnviroVent, Mac Tools, and Wiltshire Farm Foods. The category was designed to recognise franchisors with an innovative and effective approach to successfully managing and developing their brand. It was particularly important for entrants to demonstrate the franchisee benefits of having a strong brand, and in what ways the franchisor has evolved their strategy to promote future growth, recognition and success. Cafe2U are absolutely delighted with the outcome, which was announced on 21 June at the Telford International Centre during the 23rd Awards Gala Dinner. Tom Acland, the UK Managing Director of Cafe2U, was there to receive the award and recalls how he felt when being handed their trophy, “Receiving the award was very exciting, and fabulous recognition for the hard work carried out by the Cafe2U team and franchisees. We are collectively responsible for making the brand as strong as it is, and we are dedicated to achieving growth for the business and franchise network. Over the past year we did this by building up our brand and improving our product range to reflect the growing consumer desire for both high quality and convenient espresso coffee. Being named the winner of the Express Newspapers Brand Builder of the Year Award epitomises this – not just for those who work with the business in the UK, but globally too.” The Cafe2U network has grown considerably since it launched in the UK during 2005, and now has over 50 exclusive franchise territories up and down the country. The first Cafe2U prototype began on the beaches of Sydney Australia in 2000, with expansion including the UK, Ireland, and subsequently the USA in 2011. Worldwide, there are currently over 150 franchise partners. Cafe2U Launches First Franchise in New Zealand 2012-06-22T02:37:22Z cafe2u Cafe2U, the world’s largest mobile coffee franchise, has announced that it will launch its first New Zealand franchise this July. This comes on the back of the successful launch of the brand in the UK, Ireland, USA, and Germany in recent years. For many Australian franchise systems, New Zealand is often seen as a logical starting place for international expansion; however the team at Cafe2U saw things very differently as international interest grew. Alan Biddle, General Manager of International Franchise Development with Cafe2U explains why resisting the early temptation to expand into New Zealand has been the right decision. “New Zealand has a well developed espresso coffee culture, so we needed to be confident that we could deliver our complete business model in New Zealand without any compromises. Our system is so much more than just a vehicle and equipment, it’s about creating an environment in which our franchisees can prosper, and this stems from high quality systems, products and support. Our decisionto launch in other international markets first allowed us to test our ability to create such an environment for our franchisees, even in markets like the UK and the USA where espresso coffee is still very much in its infancy. Success in these markets has provide us with the confidence that our model will not only meet, but exceed both franchisee and consumer expectations in New Zealand”. Cafe2U now has over 200 successful franchises in operation across 8 countries, and have indicated that franchise opportunities will commence being offered in New Zealand in July. Cafe2U have also confirmed that they will be exhibiting at the New Zealand Business Opportunities and Franchise Exhibition in Auckland between the 10th and 12th August 2012. The Chester Hill community have enjoyed and continues to enjoy the excellent espresso coffee and friendly service provided by their local Coffee Queen, Lisa Minett. Lisa joined Cafe2U in December 2010 after buying the business from a previous Cafe2U Franchise Partner. Prior to becoming a Cafe2U Franchise Partner Lisa worked for the same company for 13 years and needed a change. Although owning her own business was slightly daunting at first, with the help of Cafe2U, Lisa embraced her new lifestyle. As a mum of two young daughters, having a good work/life balance was an important factor contributing to Lisa’s decision to join Cafe2U. Being her own boss has offered Lisa plenty of flexibility and allows her to maximise the time she spends with her family. Lisa initially came across Cafe2U whilst at a local netball game and now that she owns her own franchise, she loves getting involved in her community and can often be seen serving coffee at local events. During the week Lisa serves great coffees to her customers who eagerly await their coffee hit on her daily run. Recently, Lisa was invited by her regular customer, Jenny, to serve coffees at her wedding! ‘Lisa is always very prompt, bubbly and happy’ says Jenny. ‘We have received wonderful feedback on the service and professionalism of Lisa and her team. Everyone was most impressed.’ Before Lisa hit the road running, she referred to herself as a ‘Jill of all trades and a master of none,’ but that has all changed now! June 2012 marks Cafe2U Chester Hill’s 18 month anniversary and during this time, Lisa has successfully mastered the art of coffee making, and she’d love to make you one too!
