Five years ago, the Australian Smartphone App Developers industry barely existed. Since then, the industry is estimated to grow at an annualised 85.2% over the five years through 2013-14 to $391.9 million. This is mainly due to the increased use of smartphones in Australia and worldwide, raising the demand for app developers. Furthermore, consumers are more confident in shopping online, which has carried over to the purchase of smartphone apps. Many organisations have sought to take advantage of these trends by releasing branding tools, improving their overall product offerings or creating app marketplaces, which has boosted industry growth. Revenue is expected to increase 19.8% in 2013-14. He has no health insurance, and needs our help. If we all pitch-in a bit, it will add-up and help our friend get on the road to wellness.  Few people go through life and leave such a mark on so many different people as Murray Stenson. After serving the public for over 36 years in Seattle, Washington, it’s time to give back to Murray. He has made so many people happy, and has listened to all of their problems, and was always willing to lend an ear. Now it's time for the industry to give back to this great man. This is why Fundraising Events are being held all around the planet by the global cocktail and community. As far away from Seattle as New South Wales in Australia, The ReviveR Cocktail Bar is bringing in Super Bartender Shane Sahr, who is the multi-award winning bartender from Tini Bigs.  Along the way, Sahr's experiments in mixology have not gone unnoticed, garnering him the recognition and accolades of industry peers, media and most importantly, his loyal customers. From being a regular contender for “Best Server” and “Best Bartender” titles in annual US competitions, to building national credibility with award winning wine lists honored by Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2007 and 2008, as well as Winner of Tilth organic cocktail competition and Regional winner of The Manhattan Experience by Woodford Reserve and Esquire Magazine in 2010 and a judge for The Manhattan Experience in 2011. Sahr will be sharing tales and insights while whetting your whistle while ReviveR will be showcasing five of Murray’s most popular cocktails. Money will be donated from every drink sold that night, and all tips will also go to MurrayAid. This is the only venue outside of North America to hold this event. Murray Stenson who was awarded Bartender Of The Year in 2010, influenced and mentored Gordon Ryan while he established the ReviveR Cocktail Bar as the place to go for a classic cocktail. Inspired by Stenson’s execution of such classic drinks like “The Last Word”, a prohibition-era cocktail that he brought back to life in 2004, ReviveR will be featuring this great cocktail on the night. While in Seattle once, Stenson handed Ryan a much treasured hand-written recipe for the now famous Corpse ReviveR. That coaster now features in the main photograph handing on a wall at the bar. Times like this give people the chance to show their love for a fellow human being that transcends borders, lifestyles and cultures, as everybody has only good things to say about Murray Stenson.  Reviver is leading the drive by the Australian bar and cocktail industry in supporting friend, mentor and inspiration Stenson in his time of need.Ways the industry people can help is:* Donate product for the night* Share and invite all your friends, and* Come along and join in the fun. Let’s all come together and make this night a huge success.  Joinus at ReviveR, 37a Mann St., Gosford  NSW on November 3.  RSVP on the Facebook Event page invited. Greg Neal Adds Five More LandSpeed Records in One Weekend 2012-10-10T01:19:20Z greg-neal-adds-five-more-landspeed-records-in-one-weekend Although it was a frustrating weekend for TLN Motorsports they were still able to set rive new speed records between both their Kawasaki's at the ECTA / Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge at the Ohio Mile. The weekend started on the Kawasaki ZX-6RR making a pass of 178.459 mph which was a record pass, but not a perfect pass as a dreaded ignition problem caused a very slow launch. The next pass on the ZX-6RR was aborted as the ignition modification wouldn't let them rev above 7,000 rpm.  The team disconnected and cleaned all the connections on the ZX-6RR ignition modifications before Sunday's runs.  On Sunday, right out of the gate the ZX-6RR was strong.  Geared for 184mph but it hit the rev limiter just before the speed traps and when it did the ignition failed.  The TLN Motorsports ZX-6RR coasted through at 170mph for that pass.  The issues with this bike was starting to take it's toll and the team were getting frustrated.  On the next pass, the ignition module totally failed.  Greg Neal on-board his Kawasaki ZX-10R (2008) - Photo by David Whealon Kawasaki ZX-10R On the  first pass aboard the TLN Motorsport Kawasaki ZX-10R the team posted a 197.917 mph pass setting a new record and stood as the Throttle Nation 1000cc naturally aspirated leader until mid afternoon. Shortly after that Valarie Thompson posted a 198.1 to take the Throttle Nation class lead.  Struggling to maintain heat in the bike the GPS revealed they were running 200 at 3/4's, but slowing from there to the mile as temperature dropped. On their second pass on the ZX-10R slowed even more to 196.831 mph.  Keen for a third run the huge field prevented another run from happening. On Sunday the team simply added more tape to the radiator on the ZX-10R and got in line. It must have been too much tape as we were at 245 in the traps and ran another 196. The next two passes on the ZX-10R smoked the tires on the start and were mid 197's which gave us 4 records, but not the Throttle Nation lead. The team made the decision to go opposite to conventional wisdom and drop a tooth on the rear. "It wasn't pulling the gear we had on, but I was hoping to get into the bottom of the torque curve as I shifted into 6th. I knew I couldn't pull that tall of a gear, but maybe I could still go faster. We pumped the rear up to 70 psi to expand the tire to help pull the gear. I spun on the launch, spun and turned sideways on the shift to 2nd, but got is stabilized and I went through the traps at 199.329 mph" explains pilot Greg Neal. Record number 5 and the Throttle Nation 1000cc naturally aspirated class lead. The next pass was interesting. "I found a bump on the 5th-6th shift and the bike unloaded and started to the right. As I corrected the bike I was hit by a crosswind gust that shot me left and sent me into a cone that exploded the fairing, and then another cone at the 3/4 marker with the right side of the bike, my right arm and hand. I was able to keep it on two wheels, but not a pass I want to have again as the bike suffered a lot of damage. We tried taping it up and fixing it so we could make another pass. We got back in line with everyone looking at us like we were crazy, but ran out of time" stated Neal. The TLN Motorsport goal was seven new records which would have the team at 100 Land Speed Records set since 2008. But that wasn't meant to be.  However, setting five new Land Speed Racing records set and Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge 1000cc naturally aspirated class Champ for the third straight year is no easy feat either. The sad news is that Team TLN Motorsport has decided to retire the Kawasaki ZX-6RR, but happy it went out setting a record. At one time this Kawasaki ZX-6RR owned every 650/750 record in the ECTA and it has dominated the LTA. It still holds 3 Worlds Fastest Standing Start speeds for a N/A 650cc motorcycle. One mile @ 184.161 mph, 1.5 mile @ 190.118 mph and 1 mile street legal at 182.095 mph."To give you an idea of what the weekend was like, I'd make a pass on one bike and get back in line. Then I'd run in leathers about 1/3rd of a mile to where my wife had the other bike in line. She would ride back to be with the other bike, and also do all the record certifications. We made repairs and gear changes in the staging lanes. It was a ton of work to run both bikes, but worth the effort" sighed Neal.TLN Motorsport with Greg Neal as pilot wishes to thank their sponsors, and all their supporters for the 2012 season, and is looking forward to the 2013 Season to do it all over again!  The team is now securing sponsorship for the 2013 season, and welcomes all enquiries. “Highballs for Eyeballs” Event For The World Sight Day 2012-10-08T12:48:34Z highballs-for-eyeballs-event-for-the-world-sight-day Eight land speed records tumble in Maine 2012-09-05T05:30:28Z eight-land-speed-records-tumble-in-maine The September 01-02nd Loring Timing Associations "Harvest Event" again saw Greg Neal pilot the TLN Motorsports to success setting multiple Land Speed records.  The final count for the event was 8 new LTA LSR National records.  At this event the LTA was certifying both the speed at the 1-mile and the 1.5-mile.   The TLN Motorsports’ Kawasaki ZX-10R had a fastest speed in the standing mile of 204.791 mph, making it the fastest standing mile run that bike has ever made.  The fastest 1.5-mile speed was 206.542 mph that was the fastest N/A 1000cc run of the event. “It was one of the most difficult and rewarding weekends in many years. It didn’t go all our way.  But nothing good ever comes easy does it?  We were far from satisfied by the end of Day 1 as we knew we could go faster” rider Greg Neal said.  The team had to deal with challenging weather conditions (cold temperatures and a 12-16 mph head wind on Saturday), and then Kawasaki ZX-10R motorcycle developed an oil leak.  Three gearing changes, an oil leak repair, numerous AFR adjustments and a refusal to give in saw Neal set three new records by the end of Saturday. The promised tail wind did not turn up on Sunday with cold temperatures playing havoc with AFR and the changing winds lead to more gearing changes.  Rear tire pressures were pumped up to 65 psi to try and pull a larger gear.  The cold temperatures of 40 degrees to start the day and high tire pressures lead to spinning up on all the shifts.  The team continued to adjust and found the right package by early afternoon.  Three more records were set as the ZX-10R was running consistent standing miles of 202 mph and standing 1.5 miles of 204 mph.  One final adjustment was made and the two fastest speeds of the event were set bringing the Neal’s total of new LTA LSR National records to eight.  One final run was attempted and the ZX-10 ran out of fuel about ½ mile after the traps ending the day and the event.  Hard work and determination had paid off.Just seven weeks prior TLN Motorsports had lost their ZX-6rr with a blown engine.  Many hours of work and all of the rare parts were found and the bike will come back to life this week.  Adversity always makes success so much sweeter. The big HP from the TLN Motorsports engines is thanks to KWS Motorsports.  Brock's Performance provides the exhaust and BST Carbon Fiber wheels.  All Animal Control funds our travels.  Vortex Racing, World Wide Bearings, Web Cams, Ballistic Batteries, VP Racing fuels, Pit Bull and Motul Lubricants also contribute greatly to TLN Motorsports success. Thanks to dragbike.com for all the coverage. Next on the schedule is the Throttle Nation magazine, Top Speed Challenge in Wilmington, Ohio on September 29-30th.  Team Owner Tracy Neal has said "We will defend our 650cc and 1000cc class championships in just over 3 weeks".  I wouldn't bet against it. ANB Natural Physique Competition brings muscles to the Central Coast 2012-09-03T13:09:48Z anb-natural-physique-competition-brings-muscles-to-the-central-coast The sport of bodybuilding comes to the NSW Central Coast on September 22 presented by the Australasian Natural Bodybuilding federation, and VIP Fitness Personal Training.   “With one of the best line-ups of athletes in the contest's 10-year history the 2012 Central Coast competition is a must-see event,” says organiser Mick Moss, of VIP Fitness Personal Training.   Hard bodies and many hours of work and dedication will be on display in various categories for both men and women in either physique, figure, sports model or fitness for ages ranging from teenagers to Grand Masters.  Competitors train all year round, but the real competition preparation begins about three months in advance, shedding fat by exercising at least six days a week and tailoring their diets.  “It’s total focus and dedication to being in the best shape possible on stage” says Mr Moss.   “Competitors are very strict with their diets eats five or six meals every day - mainly chicken and vegetables - to hone their bodies as they want to maintain muscle while burning body fat.  It’s not just about losing weight, this is a real science.  It’s a lot of work and dedication.  For each and every competitor up on stage it is a testament to their commitment, mental strength to overcome challenges, and focus.  It takes real heart to compete”, says Mr Moss, himself a multiple National and World Champion.   The competition is open for entry by natural athletes of all ages and is members of the ANB.  The ANB have a pro-active ASDA drug testing policy to keep the sport clean.   The event is a 1-day format incorporating the Prejudging, which is where all competitors in each category appear on stage as a group performing their mandatory poses.  This enables the judges to be able to assess like-to-like.  The Finals is where the excitement happens as each competitor perform posing/dancing routine.  The Finals is where the winners of each category, and overall winners are crowned.   Venue:  Davistown RSL, 19 Murna Road, Davistown  NSW  2251 Date:  Saturday 22 September 2012 Time:  Prejudging starts at 11am, Finals starts at 4pm ReviveR Bar Brings a New Sense of Community to Gosford through Classic Cocktails 2012-08-27T05:54:42Z reviver-bar-brings-a-new-sense-of-community-to-gosford-through-classic-cocktails ReviveR, Gosford’s new, highly anticipated specialty cocktail bar is officially open for business, bringing a fresh concept, world class drinks, and a unique environment to the NSW Central Coast. The bar, rich with personality was founded out of a true love for classic cocktails, and the absence of a sophisticated venue in the area where people could relax, share stories and enjoy a human connection. The menu takes patrons back into history, with accounts of obscure classics, cult hits, and old favourites. Standouts include the Harvey Wallbanger, Blood and Sand, Mary Pickford, and the bar’s namesake cocktail, the Corpse ReviveR. Guests will also find a careful selection of wines, beers, ciders and hearty nibbles. Owner Gordon Ryan was inspired to start ReviveR with his partner Amanda after years of travelling around the world for work, usually alone. On the road, he related to the notion of a third place, a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg in his 1990 book The Great Good Place, to describe the “anchor” of community life, a social surrounding separate from home (the first place) and work (the second place), where people can establish a sense of place. “The third places I found for myself while on the road have been a huge driving force behind the ReviveR concept,” says Ryan. “I was so inspired to create and share a quality venue in Gosford where people could relax, connect, and feel like part of a community."The atmosphere is nothing short of unique, from the mix of old and new furnishings, to the eclectic collection of stemware found at antique shops. The large community table offers a perfect place to chat with old friends, and to welcome new ones. The story of ReviveR is not complete without mention of legendary US bartender Murray Stenson (Best Bartender in America, 2010), from the owner’s favourite third place, Zig Zag Caf in Seattle. Ryan was inspired by Stenson’s execution of sophisticated classics including The Last Word, a prohibition-era cocktail resurrected by none other than Stenson in 2004. Ryan brought the obscure cocktail home so his patrons could be among the few in Australia to enjoy it. Stenson’s presence is also felt beyond the menu. In Seattle, Stenson wrote the recipe for the Corpse ReviveR for Ryan on a coaster. Now the bar’s namesake cocktail, the handwritten note serves as a cherished part of the bar’s history and appears on the wall of the ReviveR. This is just one example of the richness of stories that will be shared with patrons over time. One particularly spooky story grants even greater significance to why the bar was named after the Corpse Reviver. Curious yet? About ReviveR ReviveR is the first classic cocktail bar in Gosford, NSW, offering a welcoming, sophisticated venue for enjoying world class drinks, excellent service, and engaging conversation. The concept of the “third place,” a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg to describe an “anchor” of community life outside the two usual environments of home and work, inspired owner Gordon Ryan to create ReviveR – a quality venue where people can come together, relax, and connect with others.
