Elgas is Australia’s leading supplier of LPG products for home, businesses, autos and BBQ customers. Elgas operates the only underground storage facility in the Southern Hemisphere with a capacity of 65,000 metric tonnes, guaranteeing long term supply. Elgas operates 40 branches across Australia, as well as the Dandenong storage facility and Elgas Cavern in Sydney. As the largest user of bulk LP Gas road transport, Elgas has access to 90 tri-axle (21 tonne) tankers and more than 30 B-Doubles (30 tonne), as well as the largest exchange cylinder fleet in the country. Elgas was established in 1984 by its two equal shareholders, The Australian Gas Light Company (AGL) and BOC Australia (formerly known as CIG), who merged their respective LPG operations.
