Trentham Estate is a family-owned boutique winery set right on the banks of the Murray River in south-west New South Wales, just 15 minutes from Mildura, Victoria. Trentham produces up to twenty wine varieties from its 60ha of vineyards. Its range of classic and alternative wines is exported to a range of countries in Europe, Asia and North America and distributed nationally to selected stockists in Australia. Collections include the classic Trentham label, the La Famiglia collection of Italian varietals, the value-for-money Murphy's Lore range, as well as the premium Victorian vineyard selection which boasts the multi award-winning Heathcote Shiraz - winner of the Trophy for Shiraz at the 2008 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Trentham's wines have collected over 400 medals since the Estate's first vintage in 1984. The winemaking philosophy at Trentham Estate has always been to produce high-quality varietal wines at an affordable price, with an emphasis on full fruit flavour and palatability. The grapes are picked and crushed at optimum ripeness to produce the perfect flavour, and the experienced winemakers use various winemaking styles to create the award-winning wines Trentham is known for. At the Estate itself, Trentham offers wine tastings and sales in its cosy Cellar Door, and a superb menu for lunch in the Restaurant, focusing on the use of local produce to create contemporary Australian cuisine with a European flair. The views from the Cellar Door & Restaurant can also be enjoyed while indulging in a gourmet platter on the green lawns, or sharing a fully-catered ‘cook-your-own’ BBQ lunch. The complex was awarded Best Tourism Winery at the Inland Tourism Awards in 2007, 2008 & 2009.
