About Us
Following the successful completion of the capital re-organisation and offer of new shares and options under the Prospectus dated 28 November 2003, AMCIL has a capital base of $43 million to pursue its broadened investment mandate. The Company remains a listed investment company. The Company will maintain its thematic focus, but will broaden its investment mandate from investing in the media and telecommunications sectors. This will involve concentrating on investment opportunities that arise from the more general thematic/cyclical rotations in the market, corporate activity and stock specific activity. Over the medium to long term, these cycles regularly produce emerging investment themes or associated periods when there are opportunities to buy into undervalued stocks. Conversely, there are periods when it is possible to realise positions that are perceived to be temporarily overvalued. As well as the media and telecommunications sectors, more recent examples include: the impact of changes in interest rates on the share prices of property trusts and the infrastructure sector; investment in banks
