For more than 145 years, Queensland Rail has been a part of the Queensland landscape. We not only connect friends and colleagues, but provide employment and economic support. Our state relies on us to do a job… and do it well. In 2009, the State Premier of Queensland Anna Bligh announced the separation of Queensland Rail's passenger services from the coal and freight businesses. "Queensland Rail" is the name of the new passenger business which will remain in Queensland Government ownership.
