The Artisan Cafe is a licensed cafe restaurant located in the leafy foot hills suburb of Blackwood, South Australia. Tucked away down a laneway, off the main road, the cafe is a hive of activity, which has made its name in the local community as a hidden gem. The Artisan pride themselves on creating beautiful food from scratch, sourcing ingredients from local and artisan suppliers, their aim being to make really tasty, high quality food, priced so that it is accessible to the community. The Artisan is the result of a sea change moment for chef Jonathan Holmes-Ross, formerly Executive Chef of Qantas Catering Adelaide, and his wife, heather, a research scientist from Flinders University. Seven years ago they purchased a coffee shop business which they have proudly built into a nationally recognised eatery.
