Newly appointed State Director a woman with serious experience

SYDNEY: 6 June 2013 – The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has just appointed Deborah Kent as the AFA’s State Director NSW with a national board position.

Deborah Kent, Director and Principal Adviser is the founder of Integra Financial Services located in Parramatta. Ms Kent said, “I have been in this industry for a long time. My view has always been that you have to get involved, roll your sleeves up and make a difference.  My plan is to do just that.  Bring all my experience, both within and beyond the industry to be part of the future financial planning industry.”

“As the AFA is turning its attentions to the customer experience and helping planners adjust to the fee for service regime, I feel confident that I can support that direction as Integra has been a fee for service organisation since 1996," said Ms Kent. “We service a wide range of clients, concentrating on pre retirees: wealth accumulators, retirees, SMEs, Self Managed Super clients, as well as young wealth accumulators.  The business also provides Risk for our Financial Planning clients.  Our new service for young accumulators is called Future Care.”

Brad Fox, AFA CEO, said that the State Director position needed all of the experience and skills that Ms Kent has to continue the AFA’s focus on business excellence, “as a practicing financial planner for over 25 years, and with over 11 years as a board member of Western Sydney Business Connections Deb brings a wealth of experience and ideas to our board.”

“As my business has been established for a number of years and I have a great team of people at Integra, this has allowed me to give back to the industry by assisting where I can to lift professionalism and the quality of advice to consumers”, Ms Kent said.

Ms Kent’s position was voted in last week and is effective immediately.  She is supported by her team at Integra; Anthony Pears, Senior Advisor, Max Jacobs, Advisor, Andrew Brooks Practice Manager and the other supporting staff.
