Announcement posted by eMove Pty Ltd 20 Apr 2006
eMove Pty Limited, (www.emove.com.au) Australias premier online moving website, today announced the successful capital raising of over $1 million and the appointment of two new directors to the board.
The funding will be used in product development and marketing to increase its footprint amongst the more than three million Australians who move every year.
eMove makes it easy for Australians to notify multiple organisations that they're moving home. As well as users giving their new address and planned moving date, the eMove website also lets users stop services at their old address and start them at their new one - perfect for services like phone, electricity and gas supply. eMove also makes it easy to obtain and compare quotes for removalists and other moving services.
eMove counts hundreds of partner organisations amongst its list of service providers including health funds, credit card companies, telephone companies, local councils, government agencies and charities.
Best of all eMove doesn't cost users a thing! eMove generates revenue from partner providers that are willing to pay to receive customers up-to-date address details. Partner providers receive accurate, complete and instant information in an easy and secure electronic format.
These oganisations typically spend huge sums to keep track of or find people who have moved. eMove helps them to reduce these costs by charging a fraction of what they would otherwise pay.
Weve spent the last four years making sure we have the partners in place that will make the service work for users, said Managing Director, Michael Gibbons. We brought together a number of parties to raise this round of capital and in the process gained two new directors with a great deal of experience in building online businesses.
Mike Gregg and Ion Alexander will join Mike Gibbons and RSVP.com.au co-founder Jay Hennock on the eMove board. Both Gregg and Alexander are former Health Communications Network directors with experience growing successful online businesses. Mike Gibbons said, With 17% of all Australians moving every year, theres a real opportunity here to not only save movers time and money, but also help the organisations with large databases save time and money in dead/re-directed mail costs and, as importantly, in retaining their customers.
The eMove website will be expanded in April with two new services and the eMove promotional campaign will go into full swing in May.
