Brisbane start-up looking for global success with digital storytelling resource

Announcement posted by Change Mania Pty Ltd 08 Dec 2016

Management consultant turned entrepreneur Leisha Boyle is growing an online library of animated stories useful for consultants and HR professionals globally

Queensland-based entrepreneur Leisha Boyle has launched stickystories.co, an online library of insightful animated stories, providing the global business community with a unique and affordable digital storytelling resource.

The Sticky Stories library has been created for professionals such as HR or communications specialists and organisational change consultants, who communicate complex management concepts and develop leaders. It provides a fresh and innovative communication and education resource to draw on in workshops, presentations, meetings and internal communication campaigns.

With over 20 years in management consulting, Ms Boyle has worked with organisations across many industries and sectors, to address their business challenges and drive change. Having faced change-weary audiences, complex messaging tight timeframes and limited communication budgets many times, Ms Boyle and fellow consultant and co-owner Leigh Walker saw an emerging digital opportunity for a storytelling resource that would not break the bank.

“Innovative communication techniques and personal stories can reinvigorate tired or lost connections with audiences in the workplace. Unfortunately they often require significant investment in time and money; something many of us don’t have”, Ms Boyle said.

“Over the years, I learned that communicating with personal stories will beat a framework or a complicated explanation every time. That’s why stickystories.co was born: years of reinventing management intentions into simple stories to inspire people towards change.

“Stories can turn dry and opaque information into lasting impressions and change, but for many, this requires a creative and individual perspective that can take time to nurture. At stickystories.co we hope that people will watch our stories and say ‘So true!’ ”

The library capitalises on the growing need to transform how we communicate, appealing to today’s audience expectation of 24-hour access to bitesize information on any device.  It is also hoping to ride the wave of interest in business storytelling that is growing across corporates and government organisations internationally. Ms Boyle believes the opportunity is significant.

“Our global market of management consultants, leadership, change and learning specialists is hard to estimate, but sits conservatively at over 5 million, so even with our current scope of story topics the growth potential is attractive. I would love to see stickystories eventually branch out to encompass other needs and audiences where stories can assist, for example in community education or parenting.

After operating for first three months in a trial phase, the Stickystories library is now live and with a growing member community, stickystories.co offers free sample and low-cost full subscriptions.
