Uniden goes digital with its first wireless video surveillance system

Ideal for supervising the safety of children, keeping a close watch on property and safeguarding small businesses, the new range of high quality digital encrypted surveillance products provide superior performance and can be set up in seconds. With a choice of cameras and monitors as well as PC connectivity for recording footage, Uniden delivers a complete video surveillance solution.
Uniden’s wireless video surveillance products utilise digital FHSS wireless technology for a secure, interference-free experience. While analogue signals can face range limitations, the digital signals broadcast by the Uniden cameras can be transmitted up to 150 metres. Furthermore, digital images carry incredible detail and can be replayed time and time again without loss in quality.
The Uniden wireless surveillance range includes a 3.5 inch wireless video monitor, 7 inch wireless video monitor, a portable wireless camera and a weatherproof wireless camera suitable for outdoor use. Both cameras offer infrared night vision for around-the-clock protection and can be easily mounted to a wall or ceiling. The sleek and compact portable camera also comes with a built in microphone.
The monitors include colour display with a choice of full screen view, auto scan from camera to camera or quad view. There is also digital zoom, pan and tilt capability and they can be easily connected to a television via standard RCA cables for big screen viewing. Both the portable camera and the monitor units include a LION rechargeable battery with up to four hours battery life allowing for flexibility and easy relocation.
Capable of supporting one monitor and up to four cameras, Uniden’s wireless surveillance systems also incorporate software for photo and video capture and record. With scheduled recordings, playback feature and smart motion detection, it allows users to remotely monitor the system from a personal computer.
To be released in January at a recommended retail price of $299.95, the USW 1101 bundle combines a 3.5 inch monitor and a portable camera. Customers will be able to purchase a wider range of bundles from March 2010.
