You Love your MAC – Let Sophos help you love it more!

Sydney, Australia 2 November 2010 - Do you love your Mac? Of course you do. Do you let your friends put their drinks down on it? Of course not. Do you own one of those perfectly-fitting padded cases to carry it in? Of course you do. (Or, if you don't, you know you ought to, and you keep meaning to buy one.)

Macs don't just run a cool operating system with a cool user interface and a bunch of cool software. They look cool, too. You didn't pay a premium for that gorgeous design to let it get messed up.

So why take chances with what's on your Mac? Why take chances with what you do on-line?

The sad thing is that most Mac users do exactly that. Very many Mac users are in at least some sort of denial about on-line security risks.

Ask Mac users if they are concerned about viruses and malware and you may need to get ready for a tongue-lashing. Lots of Mac users are gallantly confident that they'll never to fall victim to the on-line scams and tricks which routinely trip up their Windows-using friends.

Even if you convince them that's not a reliable long-term approach, you face another argument. Risk analysis.

Business users of Macs need to protect their users and their data, but is it really worth paying for Mac anti-virus software at home? Perhaps you can simply wait until someone else gets into trouble, and then re-assess your options? Bad stuff always happens to other people, after all.

Time to redo your risk analysis. Computer security specialist Sophos today released a Home Edition of its award-winning anti-virus software for Mac users - free of charge.

If you have a Mac at home, you can download Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition for Mac without registration and without a time limit. You don't need to sign up for a password. We won't stop your updates after a few months and ask for a fee. We won't find threats but pop up a payment screen when you want to remove them.

Try it today! At $0, you know it makes sense.

(Unlike some Mac products out there, Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac detects all sorts of malware, including all the bad stuff for Windows. You'll be surprised how often you'll find malware in files or on USB keys coming from your Windows chums. If they buy you a drink every time you are able to guide them away from disaster, you'll come out in profit. Not bad on a $0 all-up fee.)
