Security Consultancy Threat Intelligence Appoints Australian Security Leader Andrew van der Stock as Principal Security Consultant



Sydney, 3 November 2014 – Threat Intelligence, an Australian security consultancy specialising in the next era of intelligence-based threat management and penetration testing, today announced that it has appointed security veteran and acknowledged Australian leader of the application security field, Andrew van der Stock as Principal Security Consultant.

Andrew will be responsible for overseeing the continued enhancement and development of Threat Intelligence’s penetration testing offers, driving the expansion of its service catalogue and advancing the design and development of Threat Analytics cloud security product.

Andrew van der Stock is an acknowledged leader of the application security field, with over 15 years application security experience in Australia and the USA, and over 20 years experience in the IT field. Working across both large global organisations and small boutique security consultancies, he is exceptionally well placed to provide best in market security consultancy to Threat Intelligence's rapidly expanding portfolio of clients.

He is also a project lead at OWASP Developer Guide, the web application security bible, where he is leading the team responsible for updating the content to include modern concerns, whilst ensuring the fundamentals are robust, easily understood, implementable and testable. Since joining OWASP in 2002, Andrew has held a number of roles including Executive Director, member of the OWASP Global Chapters Committee, a key contributor to the OWASP Proactive Controls and lead author of the OWASP Application Security Verification Standard 2.0. Andrew is also an in demand speaker and trainer, with past speaking engagements at AusCERT, linux.conf.au, BlackHat, OWASP AppSec EU and AppSec USA.
