Gartner Ranks Compuware the Worldwide APM Market Share Leader for Second Consecutive Year

Compuware Leads a New Class of APM Solution Providers, Fuelled by dynaTrace 93% CAGR Over Last Two Years and Continues to Reshape the APM Landscape

Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR), the technology performance company delivering a new generation of application performance management (APM) <http://www.compuware.com/en_us/application-performance-management.html> , today announced that Gartner, Inc., has named Compuware the worldwide APM market share leader for the second year in a row. The rankings are based on worldwide revenue for 2013.

Compuware has held the No. 1 ranking for the past two years, possessing 12.1% market share based on revenue in 2013, nearly US$100 million more than its nearest competitor, according to the Gartner report “Market Share Analysis: Application Performance Monitoring, 2013.”

As the world’s top APM market share leader, Compuware’s APM business continues to grow, with its dynaTrace <http://www.compuware.com/en_us/application-performance-management/products/lifecycle-performance-management.html>  solution leading the way with a 93% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the last two years.

According to Gartner, the overall APM market in 2013 accelerated its growth trend, with a 13.1% increase in revenue over 2012, reaching $2.4 billion, which follows an already strong 2012, when the market grew 10.9%. For another perspective on the health of this market, it grew more than three times faster than the overall infrastructure software market (4.1%), and it was the fastest-growing submarket within IT operations management (ITOM), despite being a relatively large market.[i]

“We believe this ranking is first and foremost a reflection of the growing need for application performance and our products excelling at meeting that need,” said John Van Siclen, General Manager of Compuware’s APM business unit. “Mobile <http://www.compuware.com/en_us/application-performance-management/products/user-experience-management.html> , cloud and DevOps have been revenue growth drivers for us and as we continue to innovate in these areas, our APM products are poised for accelerated success and stand to gain even greater market share.”
